Abstract
Idioms are units of language can be in the form of phrases, can be in the form of words, or sentences whose meaning cannot be predicted from where the lexical elements or grammatical of these units. This research analyze idiom in Westlife‟s song lyrics in ”Spectrum” Album. The objectives of the research were to find out the types of idiom and analyze the meaning of idiom in the song lyrics of Westlife ”Spectrum” Album. Descriptive qualitative design was used to classify and analyze the data. The data are analyzed by classifying all the data based on the types of a English idiom, informing their meaning the English idiom and drawing conclusions. The result of the research researcher found 24 phrase using idiomatic expression divided into 3 types comprises six phrasal verb, two prepositional verb and sixteen partial idiom. It was found that there are 24 idioms that have conceptual meaning, affective meaning and connotative meaning.
