Abstract

Metaphorisdefinedastheuseofawordorgroupofwordswithnot theactualmeaning,butasarepresentbasedoncomparisonsortoreferto somethingotherthanwhatitwasoriginallyappliedinordertosugges someresemblanceoraconnectionbetweentwothingsormore.This researchanalyzemetaphorinsonglyricsofTaehyungKim.TheObjectives ofthis research were to describe the types and explain meaning of metaphorinsonglyricsbyTaehyungKim.Descriptivequalitativedesign wasusedtoclassifyandanalyzethesonglyrics.Thetechniquethatthe researcherusedincollectingthesonglyricswasindirecttechniquefrom internetwebsite. Theresearcherfound51songlyrics usingmetaphoricalexpression thatdevided into 3 typesofmetaphorthere are structuralmetaphor, orientationalmetaphorandontologicalmetaphor.Theresearcherisalso explainthemeaningof51songlyricsthathasmetaphorexpression.
