Abstract
This research aims to find out the effectiveness and significance different of using Edmodo in Teaching Argumentative Text At the Fourth Semester students’ Muhammadiyah University of Metro. Edmodo is an applied social media site alternative for lecturers, students, and campus districts. Edmodo is simple, it is a friendly user interface. This research used experimental research. Argumentation is a type of essay that tries to influence others by presenting evidence that proves the argument is stated logically and factually. The subjects of this research are the students at the Fourth Semester English Department Muhammadiyah University of Metro in Academic Year 2020/2021. There are 20 students in the control group and 20 students in the experimental group. The research instrument used to collect the data in this research is Test. From the two classes, the experimental and control group, the measurement shows that the increasing line of Reading skills in the experimental group is higher than the control group. The result of data analysis indicates that the value of t obtained (11.076) was higher than that of t table (2.09) at the significance level 0.05 and the significance (0.000) was lower than 0.05. It is proved by the result of data analysis indicating that the value of t obtained (2.702) was higher than that of t table (2.02) at the significance level 0.05 and the significance (0.000) was lower than 0.05. It can be concluded that there are effective and significant differences in using Edmodo Application at Fourth Semester the English Department Muhammadiyah University of Metro.
