Abstract
This research examines the effectiveness of the Grammarly Keyboard application in improving the English writing skills of culinary students at SMKN 1 Metro. The study focuses on students' abilities to write recount texts, a form of writing that retells past events. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design, pre-tests and post-tests were administered to two groups: an experimental group using Grammarly and a control group receiving traditional instruction. The results indicate that students in the experimental group showed significant improvement in their writing, particularly in grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure. The use of Grammarly provided real-time feedback, allowing students to correct errors and enhance clarity in their writing. In contrast, the control group exhibited minimal improvement. These findings suggest that Grammarly can be an effective tool in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) settings, enhancing students' writing abilities and engagement with writing tasks. The study highlights the potential of integrating digital tools in vocational education to address challenges in language learning.
