ABSTRACT Herdiano,Yendi.2022. An Analysis of Idiom in OASIS Song Lyrics on”The Masterplan” Album. An Undergraduate Thesis. English Education Study Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty. Muhammadiyah University of Metro. Advisor: (1) Fenny Thresia , M.Pd. (2) Aulia Hanifah Qomar, M.Pd ,M.Pd. Key word: Idioms, The Masterplan Album Idioms are fixed combinations of words whose meanings are often difficult to guess from the meaning of each word. The purpose of this research to describe the idioms that are most often used in the Masterplan Album. The objects of the study are types and most often used idioms in OASIS song lyrics on “The Masterplan” Album by John Mayer. The data are taken from the lyric “The Masterplan” Album on Internet and Spotify. The method of qualitative method. The total of idiomatic expressions is 61 consisting of Similes was 7 or 11.48%, Binomials was 27 or 44.26%, Proverbs was 1 or 1.64%, Euphemisms was 2 or 3.28%, Cliche Cliche was 7 or 11.48%, and Fixed statement was 17 or 27.86%.
