Abstract

ABSTARCT Mubaroroh, Luluk Latifatul. 2023 The Influence Of Tiktok Video Toward Students’ Ability In Writing Analytical Exposition Text At The Eleventh-Grade Ma Negeri 1 Metro. Advisors : (1) Amirudin Latif, M.Pd. (2) Eva Faliyanti, M.Pd.BI. Key Words: Writing Ability, TikTok Video. Writing is an essential skill in English because it is a means of communication. Writing is one of the four English skills that must be learned in education and is a skill that is considered difficult for students, especially in determining ideas and describing them in written form. Students need help in choosing topics and expressing ideas effectively to improve their writing skills. This study aims to determine whether the use of TikTok videos affects the writing abilities of class XI students of MA Negeri 1 Metro, especially in analytical exposition text. The use of TikTok videos is thought to enhance students' writing abilities. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The study population consisted of 76 students divided into two groups, namely the XI IPS 1 experimental group and the XI IPS 2 control group, with the sample selection using simple random sampling. The researcher used pre-tests and post-tests as instruments. The study's results using hypothesis testing show that the first test uses a significance degree of 5% or a significance level of 0.05. sig. (2-tailed), The t-count (19.269) is greater than the t-table (1.68709) with a significance of 0.00<0.05. Test the second hypothesis where the t-count (2.976) is greater than the t-table (1.992) at a significance level 0.05. sig. (2-tailed) 0.004<0.05. The research results show that using TikTok videos influences the writing skills of class XI students, especially analytical exposition texts. The researcher has suggested that future researchers should be creative in selecting TikTok videos to enhance understanding and highlight important points, as educational media is crucial for future generations.
